France 24 is live

Well, Al Jazeera has competition in the anti-American news biz. Chirac's 1991 dream of an international French news station is finally a realité. It's going on satellite tonight but is already broadcasting on the internet in three languages - French, French and French. (the other two are supposed to be English and Arabic, but they stream French only at the moment)(UPDATE: English is working now)

It looks a lot less sharp and stylish than AJE, sort of like a slightly more expensive version of Euronews. But, hey, I like euronews.
